Bafut Council is a meeting point of modern local democratic governance and traditional customs aim at bringing development and core administrative services to Bafut Council Area.

Based on the provisions of the law on Councils in Cameroon, the current number of Councillors for Bafut stand at 35, representing the 54 villages within the Council Area.
