Some elders at Mayor Ngwakongoh’s series of meetings within Bafut Council Area with Fons, quarter heads, and family heads to ensure an effective back to school come September 2023.

BAFUT PALACE
Surrounded by a sacred forest in the heart of northwest Cameroon, the Bafut Palace has been the fulcrum of political power for over 400 years. It embodies Bafut cultural identity and remains a center for religious rites and traditional ceremonies. Over 50 houses are clustered around the siteâs spiritual core, Achum Shrine, and are used by the Fon (king), his wives, and the royal court. This shrine, built of wood and bamboo and covered with thatch, houses a valued devotional object, typically referred to as a fetish, and is an impressive example of traditional religious architecture.
Saddle Hill Ranch
Saddle Hill Ranch is an exclusive Mountain resort in Bafut. It is well known for its exquisitely furnished accommodation and tranquil natural environment. Menchum Falls
Menchum Falls is about 20 km south of Wum and 30 km north of Bafut and has an impressive and a potential tourist attraction. The falls are a place of spiritual retreat for the native population and remains of objects used in traditional rituals can be found at the base of the falls. Menchum Falls represent a scenic and memorable work of nature in the middle of the lush forest and is one of the largest in West Africa
Savannah Botanic Gardens (SABOGA)
The Gardens include a herbarium, an orchard, a nursery, a demonstration organic farm, a savanna forest, an African jungle village, as well as a meditation center. In addition, many sections bear their own specific theme, such as the âWill you Marry Me Corner,â the âBantu Village,â the âMillennium Botanica,â the âMuslim and Christian Prayer Ground,â and the âDr. Martin Luther King Equality Center.âThere is also a restaurant and bar (housed in a traditional boukarous) and a childâs activity area. It is possible to book a room at the gardens if you want to stay overnight in Bafut
